Why are we different...

As you may by now have gathered we are slightly different to the other organisations offering similar projects, we are not a travel company. We are here to send dedicated volunteers to carry out the work required in our projects and it is really important to us that our volunteers are ready to go to India to volunteer – as you may have read, it is a beautiful country but it can be a very difficult and frustrating country. We can personally confirm the good bits will always outweigh the bad bits!

Living and travelling in a developing country can be very interesting and you will find yourself saying regularly “well that’s just how it is in India!” You will have to have the patience of a saint!

To volunteer in our projects requires commitment, professionalism, cultural awareness, empathy, creativity and of course, a willingness and eagerness to live as part of a community in a developing country. Most importantly of all to want to add something special to the lives of the amazingly wonderful people we work with.

Awareness, respect and patience are also qualities we feel all volunteers should possess in abundance! You will always be waiting for the car to arrive to take you to your chosen volunteering project and you will have to wait for the teacher to open the school - always waiting! You must be able to relax into it – make the most of the extra time by ensuring you are completely prepared for your volunteering project, talk things through with the other volunteers and don’t be surprised when the car horn starts beeping to hurry you along even though they are running late.
